Things haven't been better. Still loaded with work. Things haven't been better. Still loaded with work. Things haven't been better. Still loaded with work. Things haven't been better. Still loaded with work. Things haven't been better. Still loaded with work.

The LAKE HOUSE or the MAIL BOX?

In this movie, I am not sure which is more inspiring: The lake house or the mail box? I think I know the answer: It's myktheone. That's where I got the idea of watching this film. It's a sad story that can melt one's heart. Don't ask me why. pix from www.wikipedia.org .

WHAT KEEPS ME GOING DESPITE STRESS IN THE WORKPLACE

Proximity of school . I get to see my family right after work because the place where I live is just few steps away from school. My students . They make me feel fulfilled by giving me a dose of my daily challenge every day. My colleagues . They sometimes amaze me with the kind of support they can give to me although I am now in a separate office. Myktheone. He challenges me with the sense of responsibility that he has. I get the feeling that if he can make sacrifices for his classmates, then, why can’t I do it for my students? And because of that, I feel like I want to help him reach his full potential. Resigning from my post won’t be an option until I see him (and all the students like him) graduate with honors. That, I promised to myself. I still enjoy teaching . I got used to the mental and physical demands of teaching. My blog. Without this blog, there is no other outlet for my sentiments. In the first place, writing is my way of relaxing. I do blog because I get to relax my m

WORK OVERLOAD

I just took a self-assessment test on work overload. And the result says that my work overload status is CRITICAL. The interpretation given was “if work overload cannot be substantially reduced within the next few months, immediately search for another position.” No wonder, I thought of resigning from my position several times. Now, I am sure of it. I am overloaded with work. And thanks to the book titled WORK OVERLOAD! REDESIGNING JOBS TO MINIMIZE STRESS AND BURNOUT by Frank M. Gryna. The book, which I incidentally found at the NEW ACQUISITION section of the main library, made me realize the reasons for the stress I feel at work and how it can be minimized (take note of the word minimize because stress at work is really impossible to eliminate). Gryna, the author of the book, emphasized that “we do not have to accept work overload as inevitable. You may call it a “challenge” or call it “an opportunity.” However, Gryna was also right in saying that “work overload is a problem a

Ako ba si superwoman?

Ako ba si superwoman? Kung ako nga si Superwoman, bakit walang nakakaalam? Bakit walang nakakaramdam? Kulang and bente-kuwatro oras sa akin.

Nostalgia

I proctored midterm exam yesterday and two of the classes I proctored were BS Nursing classes. While doing my job as a proctor, I had several thoughts in my mind. First, I don't miss teaching English to Nursing students. The Nursing classes here are crowded. Each class has 50 students. I was just lucky to have survived in my writing classes for Nursing students. The truth is that I usually end the sem without even being able to label all faces in class with their names. And I have to admit that I only noticed the extremes in class with 50 students. I easily notice the best and the delinquent ones. The average students have never got any chance of being noticed. I also get to notice the best and the worst writers in class. But I remember, when I handled Speech classes for Nursing, I had one section that made me recognize ALL students in class because most, if not all, of them are great speakers! I think that was BSN 2-21 then. Now, they are already junior students and be
