Attending worship at ILI

Last Sunday (March 22), I attended the worship at ILI as requested by Joowon. She said Prof. Lee wants me to meet his sister so I went to their house with Steffi. Mrs. Lee is older than Prof. Lee but she looks young at her age. She doesn't understand English that much so Prof has to translate the conversation. Once in a while, it's a good idea to attend the worship. The message, actually, was relevant to me. Prof. Lee said in the sermon that no amount of work will make people happy and contented if it is done without God in the center of their lives. He emphasized that man can only do things which are according to God's will. Without putting God first, everything will just fail.

Steffi is running for Secretary in Grade School Student Council

Stef is part of KAPANATAG party. She's vying for the position of secretary. I am hoping she'll make it! I actually went to their school to take their photos to be used in their posters. I also helped Stef in writing her speech for the campaign. We also created the party's PowerPoint presentation for their campaign. Steffi is now becoming more aware of what a school government is. After being President of English Club this academic year, we realize she should be in the student council -- ha ha. Hope the party will make it! KAPANATAG: Kaibigan . Pantay-pantay . The Toxic Days are here

Final period is here. This week and last week had been such busy days. Students come to the office for different reasons: clearance, consultation on final requirements, thesis consultation, follow-up of different activities, etc. Such hectic schedule -- I don't even have time to enjoy my lunch. Even lunch time is eaten by all the school concerns. Added to all these things that I need to do was Stef's concerns in school. Of course, I have to help her first before I attend to any other concerns. Actually, I only got a chance to blog because I woke up early (5:30 am) so I can have my "own time" blogging and drinking tea. I treasure my "own time" in the morning because when the day starts, like when my kids are already awake, and when I am in school, I don't own my time anymore. But just like what I always say, being busy is a sign of being capable of doing what many may not be able to do, or what many would not even think about doing.

My students will have a chance to PEEK INTO THE FUTURE this coming Saturday

Family time is quality time

My weekends belong to my family. This is what I always tell myself since I spend more than 12 hours working on weekdays. Usually on Sundays, we go to Carmelite Monastery to pray. We intentionally don't attend the mass because Danie can't keep quiet even for a minute :-) It's enough that we pray together and I get to teach my kids about our belief as Catholic. During weekends, we think of something to do together: malling, shopping, going to church, eating out, etc. The activity doesn't have to be an expensive one. What's important is our togetherness :-)

Francis M will always be remembered by the Filipinos

Francis M passed away yesterday after a seven-month struggle with a specific type of leukemia called Acute Myelogenous Leukemia with Mixed Lineage. After hearing about his death, I quickly searched the net to find his blo g , where he talked about his struggle with chemotherapy. While looking at his photos and reading his entries, I suddenly felt how sad it was to visit a blog by a person who just passed away. I even thought, when I die, all my family can do is to visit my blog and they would remember how I was when I was still on Earth. Nakakalungkot . Na-realize ko, ang hirap talaga ng may sakit. Mas mahirap kapag may cancer ka, then you know you don't wanna die because you want to see your kids grow. Francis M has 8 kids (some already grown-ups) and I am sure that they're the people who were hurt the most for what happened. Francis M had left his family but his legacy as a wholesome rapper and talented singer and an effective noontime show host would remain in the hear
