MC student #1 applied for a job at an airline company. The screening committee from the prospect company told her, "maputi ang kailangan namin dito." So, what else will my student say? Nothing. She happened to have a brown (morena) complexion.
MC student #2 applied for a job at another airline company. She wrote in her resume that she stands 5'6". Then when she was called for an interview, she was asked to remove her high-heeled shoes and have height measurement right in front of the hiring committee. They found out that she only stands 5'5". She was immediately told to leave as they gave her resume back. Grrr!
MC student #3 went to Ortigas for job hunting. She found a bank that has a prestigious name -- hoping it also offers good pay. She tried her luck there. She almost got hired but when she found out that the company is giving her only P8,000 to P10,000 as starting pay, which is not about to increase in three years, she backed out. Her parents told her she might as well stay home, instead of earning a living that will not even support her own needs like apartment rent, transportation, and meal allowance.
MC student #4 applied for a job in a call center in Ortigas. The pay offered is higher -- about P15,000 a month. But the problem is that she was told that she has to work for straight 19 hours in a day. Isn't that absurd? I actually thought she's working for 19 hours a week. But 19-hour work in a day is just like hell. . . Forget it.
MC student #5 was offered a job here. It was fine with him. He likes this school, anyway. But when he found out that he would be assigned in a department where all directors/staff (since it was opened) served only for a year or less, he had second thought. There must be something about the office/department that will not make one grow. I think I have an idea, but I'll just leave it to myself. But I assure you, the department is far from the CAS office.
MC student #6 will graduate cum laude. She was offered a part-time job that guarantees an earning of P1,000 a day. It was a hosting job. She told the recruiter that she's coming for an interview today at 10 a.m. However, just this morning, she received a call from one of the companies she also applied for and she was asked to report for an interview at 1 p.m. Of course, she chose the company offering full-time job. Let's just see what will happen to the interview.
MC student #7 had actually started working in an airline company at Clark. But she stayed there only for one day. She didn't like the working hours and the policy on day-off. Plus, the factor that turned her off was the pay: P236.00 a day. Kulang pa para sa gasolina (her dad brings her to the office) at pagkain. So, goodbye airline.
Of course, there are also good stories. A bunch of them is already working in Makati. I never heard from them yet.
