Exam starts today.
I just administered two exams this morning. The second one was with my former students. They used to be my English 1 students -- that was when they first set foot on AUF (first sem, first year). Now, they're on their second year.
When the last examinee entered the classroom, I didn't think she was among my former students.
She was wearing brown lipstick, complete with well-shaped eyebrows and pink blush-on. A large pair of drop earrings also caught my attention, not to mention the pink accessories that made her hair noticeable.
I was sure I've never met her until I signed on her permit. I almost dropped my pen when I saw her name. I couldn't help thinking: "What happened to this girl?"
She used to be the simplest student in their class: no lipstick, no blush-on, "untouched" eyebrows, nothing on her ears, no colorful hair accessories.
But I've also noticed that some things didn't change: she was still very quiet, and was doing things on her own -- no close friend in class. And she still sat on a front seat -- the same seat she used to occupy when she was my student.
I just hope she never changes her study habits because I remember, she was the most diligent and the most rational being in their class.
