I learned last week that a graduating BS Biology student here in AUF died a couple of weeks prior to end of sem. The student died of leukemia and according to reports, her family knew the cause of death only when she already died. Had it was diagnosed earlier, perhaps, she could still attend the graduation ceremony on Friday (April 27). I heard that her parents are coming on Friday to receive their daughter's diploma. This is such a sad story for the parents. Even if the parents do not know me and even if I've never known the student, I feel for them. Thru this blog, I'd like to express my condolences to the family.

Another sad story: How can the suspects kill such a selfless person like Julia Campbell? I just read her blog and I found out that she did nothing but help poor Filipinos. It's so sad to think that a person like her will be betrayed by Filipinos. She was helping Filipinos, and yet Filipinos killed her. Nakakahiya talaga tayo. And then, I remember one interviewee on one newscast last week who said that Julia Campbell was so careless. That guy said Julia shouldn't have walked all alone in that area in Banaue. I think that was a stupid remark. Julia trusted the Filipinos completely so she wasn't bothered about walking all alone in such a place. Had she known that Filipinos are not worth trusting, I'm sure she would not devote all her precious time to our poor fellow Filipinos. Check out Julia Campbell's blog here. Reading her blog would make you feel sad, I'm sure.
