My love for newspaper, my passion for teaching and my proficiency in English resulted in a book launching :-)
Joining Dr. Umaly and I during the book launching on Sept. 15 at SM Convention Hall, Mall of Asia: Professor Lee (President, International Language Institute). Joowon Yoon (my former student), my mom (also a writer), Ms Badette Cunanan (PR Manager of the Manila Bulletin), Jung, Dea-woung (my thesis advisee), and Kevin (my Korean ESL student).
"Bringing this book into your classroom is like taking with you the oldest newspaper in the Philippines and one of the best publishers in the country."
Of course, another photo op with the wonderful people from Vibal and the Manila Bulletin.

What was I thinking during this time that I was sitting next to Mr. Inocencio while waiting for my turn to speak?
Nothing.
I was just trying to make myself believe that there's nothing to be nervous about.
And I guess I was right...
Indeed, the book launching was a significant event for me because of several reasons.
First, obviously, that was my first book launching.
Second, this event made me realize how my Korean students and Professor Lee value an ESL instructor like me. I never expected them to come. Seeing them witnessing this important event in my life gave me more reasons to feel grateful to them.
Third, I guess I've met wonderful people during the event. Although we knew that the meeting was temporary and short-term, the people were very warm in accommodating us -- thanks to all the staff of Vibal. They're all wonderful.
Lastly, this event could open more opportunities for Dr. Umaly and I.
(keeping my fingers crossed :-)
